The Spirit girls played Marist-Harewood 14 at Redwood park. The girls all turned up full of energy and enthusiasm. Ruby was team captain for the day and won the toss, electing to bat first. Ruby and Maddison opened the innings for the team, followed by Willow and Daisy, then Rea and Jiya. All the girls batted well, looking for quick runs once the ball was hit, some sharp fielding from a couple of the M-Harewood boys restricted the girls to a respectable 63. The girls then took the field with enthusiasm, a late run-out by Ruby was met with cheers from the side-line. After the game, the girls were all smiling and laughing, looking forward to the next game.
