After a delayed first week, the first opposition that we faced this season was the Riccarton Hogs. Traditionally our games with them have always been close affairs with the last years match up coming down to the final ball of the innings. This seasons game was almost a repeat performance. We after being put in to bat we lost some early wickets but Andrew Brown picked up where he left off last season by hitting 56* for the game. If the rest of the team had managed to stay around of a significant portion of time we would have posted a competitive total that we could easily defend but, it was not to be. We were bowled out early in the 16th over with 105 runs on the board. We bowled incredibly well, with debutant Bobby Florkowski taking 2/14 from 4 overs after his first over went for 11 runs. We gave ourselves a shot at pulling off an unlikely victory but again Riccarton managed to get the win on the last delivery of the game. Hopefully we get them next time.
