A late ground transfer to a cowish paddock at Warren Park, we started the new season in what can be described as Joel Turner like conditions (generally overcast with a possibility of rain and thunder and the odd fine break).
Under the new leadership of Musty Hanson, we batted first (not sure who actually won the flip). Musty fell early and a steady partnership between Mayank and Joel before both fell before drinks (Joel was still whinging about been given caught behind of a "wide"). It brought Goody and Crocy to the crease and an important 90 run stand (amongst 20 wides) and a flurry of wickets saw us finish on 170/7 from 40. Good solid start with the willow.
we started well with an early wicket, but some boundaries started to hike their total. We were always confident the next wicket was around Joel's corner, and it was. We chipped away at one end and eventually got the win by 32 runs. There were many bowling rotations used by Keen As Mustard and most wickets were shared around. Mayank's 3-13 the pick. A good little team here with useful skills for every occasion.
A welcome to Rueben Fairbairn and back for Andrew Flanagan. Nice to see new faces on board.
