Burnside 111 lost to BBBB's 112/3
St's and Burnside met at St Albans Park, neither Matt or I knew what to do if we won the toss as the pitch was a bit of a mystery to both of us. Matt called incorrectly so I went with the option of we haven't been able to defend a total all season so let's have a bowl. Marty and War machine McKean opened up with a stand of 20 before Wellsy broke thru, McKean dragging on for 8. Marty and Crash out soon after and we were feeling we had a chance of making good inroads. Skipper Matt and Adrian added 40 odd before both departed in quick succession (70/5). Wicket number 6 fell at 95 and then the dreaded 111 worked well for us with the last 4 Burnside wickets falling on this total. Top score 22 for Vernell, Wellsy 4/20, Eagle 2/21.
Into bat with Gibby (56) and Musty (38) putting on a solid 80 odd in reply before Jeff Roy, playing his first game for some time, had Musty caught, Jimmy then ran himself out for 8, Gibby following shortly after before Mantis and Rich saw us home with 7 overs to spare.
Shared beers on the sideline afterwards to cap off a good days cricket.
Cheers
