St Albans 195/6 beat Heathcote Tunnel Rats 148.
Eugene called correctly and asked us to bat on a slightly damp looking Centennial Park 1. Gibby and Baz batted positively, hitting anything loose and after 10 overs we had 56 on the board. Baz fell for 33 (56/1) followed shortly afterwards by Gibby for 28 (74/2), then Hampo 14 (80/3). Jimmy joined Ralphie and played positively in a 49 run partnership, smashing 34 before falling (129/4), Half G out for a duck (133/5) and Flav for 8 (148/6) after 36 overs. Wellsy finished the innings off with a well hit 32* (4 sixes) with Ralphie 36*, 195/6 our final score. Poole the best for Heathcote, 2/37 off his 8.
Into the field with Wellsy and Flav bowling a tight line to start with. Wellsy taking a sharp return catch to see Eugene on his way for 3 (3/1), 2 more wickets as the score moved to 55/3 before Spicer and Howard combined for a 67 run partnership before Jon fell for a well composed 67 (122/4). After that wickets fell quickly to see Heathcote all out for 148. Wellsy 3/35, Potty 3/14 and Gibby 3/9 with Hampo chipping in with 1/19, Half G 3 catches behind the stumps.
Cold beers on the sideline between the 2 teams to end another good day of cricket.
Cheers Potty
