For our first match in the T20 competition against Merivale Papanui, we won the toss and decided to have a bat. After a steady couple of overs, we lost a few quick wickets, making us 17 for 3. From there a solid partnership from Will Southby and Matthias took us to 71 before Will was caught out on 25, and soon after Matthais bowled for 26. A solid 21 from Sam Kearns took us to a more respectable total of 119, a few runs short of where we needed to be.
Second innings started well with a wicket from Matt Aspinall in the first over, and a second from Clem in the 4th over, taking MP to 19 for 2. From there a good couple of innings from their batsmen took them to 76 for 5, and even with a few wickets at the end to get them 7 down their 8 and 9 managed to get them over the line in the last over.
