Today saw our first loss of the season. We won the toss and elected to bat. Chris had put her hand up to open this week so out she went with Julz in tow. Chris stayed out for 10.2 overs!!! There were some mild concerns about the state of her heart, especially after running a 3 on a shot that was actually a boundary. It took a wee while for her heart rate to come back down after her batting stint but she did come right in the end. Julz held her wicket and plugged away, ending up getting caught behind for 32. The rest of the batting order failed to get their eye in and we were all out for 92. That was never going to be enough and LP got it before drinks. Elrie did manage to finish it on her terms, forcing them to plug away at the final 6 runs with only singles. We did enjoy having a few fans on the boundary today. Too bad we couldn’t give them a better result. Better luck next week.
