With a quick turn around from the school day .
The Diamonds vs Hermiones
An overcast afternoon, the captains did the toss with Diamonds electing to bowl first as the Halswell team only had 4 players with more on the way.
The pitch was slightly long with lots of mown grass covering the field ...not ideal like most of the pitches so far this season.
Sasha and Violet led the bowling attack with Violet taking an early wicket, up next was Stella also taking a wicket in the last ball of her over. The Diamonds bowled well to restrict Halswell's batting giving them mainly singles off a few too many free hits. With the Diamonds taking a few run outs and Isabella taking a wicket midway, set the Diamonds a target of 102/7 to chase.
With our opening duo heading out, Amelia (30 n/o) and Stella charged into a flurry of 4's and 2's running hard between wickets taking advantage of some over throws.
Next partnership Elle and Violet came out running hard for singles and 2's, with a nice pull shot from Violet for a 4. Isabellla and Katie up next. They continued to press hard for singles and 2's, although Halswell started to get a few run outs with some over exuberant calls made .
The tail end with Chloe and Sasha continued with a lots of singles, marred by fantastic fielding by Halswell Chloe managed a great pull shot hit for 4 to end her and Sashas innings.
All done with almost hitting twilight
