Masters Men BBBBs
One-day v Burnside West University at Burnside 4

by Jodie Smith (Robbies)

St Albans came to Burnside 4 to challenge the BWCUCC Robbies Masters for the Frampton Shield.

Robbies were sent into bat on another good looking deck and got to work, losing Smith in the 5th, Cooper in the 17th and Crowe in the 22nd over before Andy Mayo joined opener Steve McKean and picked up the pace with a 104 run partnership. Steve again working all the way through the 40 overs to get our first century of the season with a fantastic 101 not out to follow up on last weeks 95 not out. Andy Mayo also obtaining his half ton, then skying one in the 37th to finish on 51. Robbies finished their 40 overs at 210/5; Steve McKean 101*, Andy Mayo 51. Wickets were shared between 5 of the 6 St Albans bowlers, with 1 each.

St Albans then had a horror start with Nathan Columbus bowling Hampton on the second ball of the innings, but then set in to the chase. Cox batting hard and taking boundaries regularly before being bowled by Skipper Cini for 51. Others attempted to keep the run rate there but tight bowling and wickets when they mattered ultimately saw out their 40 overs finishing well short of the target at 132/8. B Cox 52, Smith 26*, Nathan Columbus 3/12, Mark Cini 2/14.
