Fozzie Bears (4 and 0) v Saints Super Swingers (1 and 3). Polo 4
Disappointingly for a derby match we found ourselves playing on a rubber ducky Polo 4. Whoever makes these decisions needs a word. Despite the Swingers early season results they have had the wood on the Fozzies in the recent past and today was to prove no different with the swingers emerging with a 7 run win after a tight run chase.
Kado lost the toss (2 from 5) and the Swingers elected to bat first. Fielding a few new faces the Swingers came out quick and set a respectable 155/5. A less than ordinary runout decision early on could have seen a less than competitive score posted. Drapes was the pick of the bowlers with a hostile spell of 2-28 off his four.
In return 149/7 the Fozzies were never able to put the Swingers bowlers under enough pressure for sustained periods. Swede continued his excellent form opening with a rapid 31, Rick all class again 49*, Fabs 21 and Jimmy 15 all contributed with fine innings.
It was great to have Jimmy back for season 23/24 posting game 300 something for the Fozzie's, the Gentleman of the team.
A disappointing result for the Fozzies.
