Played at Lancaster Park. Most in the team had watched a lot of cricket here in their youth, but it was the first time playing on the hallowed ground. Not quite the same without the stands and crowds, and a poor quality pitch. We won the toss and chose to field, bowling them out in the last over for 131. Wellsy and Mantis beat the bat regularly but couldn't get wickets, and it was until Potty and Flav came on that the game turned in our favour. Six wickets between them, with Potty having player of the days stats of 8 overs 4 for 7. Norm and Rich M had tidy spells to close out the innings. We lost two early wickets, but an unbeaten 100 run partnership between Gibby and Hampo got us home for an eight wicket win.
