Saints won the toss and asked Sumner to bat in this top of the table clash. Sumner had scored 400 at the same ground a few weeks ago, but superb bowling from Wellsy and Eagle saw Sumner reduced to 4-20 off 10 overs, including the dangerous Darren Reekers. Both bowlers made the most of a hard track, and were well supported by the fielders, with the most memorable performance a diving one-handed catch at first slip by Blair Franklin. Potty came on and did what he does best, taking 5-7 off his 6 overs, including his 10th career hat trick and second this season. The last of the three wickets was that of former Saints player Andrew Nuttall. Saints only took 16 overs to chase down the required 77 runs (Hampo 40, Gibby 31*) for a nine wicket win.
