It was one of those days where the majority of the team assumed that we wouldn't be playing due to the rain forecast. Alas, this was not the case and we found ourselves standing on the boundary at Hagley Park wondering how much of the game we could get through before the rain started. NWSD won the toss and elected to bowl first. Bondi and I headed out to try and see out some opening bowlers and get some runs before the rain came. After drinks it was go hard or go home, which resulted in me swinging at a straight ball and missing. Bondi stayed in, managing to find the boundary through the wet outfield, eventually getting bowled for 47. New addition to the team Emily Ballinger also found the boundary and pushed the runs through until the end of the innings, ending on 113.
The rain set in after that, and despite our determination to push through, the ball was soggy and the pitch was too wet. We abandoned at drinks in the second innings. We were ahead at drinks by 6 runs and one wicket, so managed to pick up the win anyway, even if NWSD didn't really agree and have pushed for a draw. But it only take 1 run to win and we will take it.
