St's ventured to Sydenham Park to take on Hospital. Hampo won the toss and decided to bat on what looked like a good pitch but a long and slow outfield.
That decision wasn't looking too sharp with us sitting at 46/5, Jinto bowling a very rapid first spell and taking 2 cheap wickets.
A good 48 run partnership between Mantis and Wellsy tipped the balance back in our favour and the last 3 wickets put on reasonable partnerships to see us thru to 164/9. Once again the innings was well controlled by Mantis with a while struck 78, a great innings when you consider the next highest score was 19. Jinto 4/29.
Wellsy and Flav opened up and the steady flow of wickets had Hospital on the back foot for their entire innings. 1/7, 2/10, 3/11, 4/12, 5/13, 6/14, 7/18. A solid partnership between Rikki and Paul C stopped the rot but all out 51 was the end result. Wellsy 3/7 and Flav 3/13 the chief destroyers.
The game ended just as the first hint of rain started to fall. As usual the game was played in the right spirit to make it an enjoyable day.
